Pumpkin Patch

Our Little Pumpkin!!!
Friday October 23 was a chilly beautiful night BJ and Brady played along by going to a pumpkin patch to pick out our family pumpkins. I am so excited about our first Halloween together as a family. I wanted cute pictures to post and to scrapbook. I was so excited. I dressed Brady in a long sleeve shirt (I wish it was plaid), overalls, and a bow. She looked so cute!!! It was so hard getting good pictures where she was happy and content. She was not playing model very well and was not happy with me for all the pictures.

We searched and searched the patch for just the right pumpkins with our GREAT friends Nick and Day. Finally we settled on three that were just the right size while Nick and Day settled for three pumpkins and four more tiny pumpkins. Sharing this time with them was so much fun.

Picture time!! Brady was getting cranky but she posed well for a mommy and baby picture.

What a pair of Cuties!! I have such a handsome husband and beautiful daughter.

Trip to Texas Part IVb

Part IVb: East Bound on I20 Heading Home
October 12, 2009
Lindell, Texas

On our way out of Texas we met up with one of BJ's friends Jenny (Knox) Glenn and her husband Derrick. We met them for some ice cream at a road side Dairy Queen the Texas stop sign. It was great!!! We were there for only a short time because it was already going to be real late when we got back to Tuscaloosa.

On the road again it rained and rained and rained some more. It was a very gloomy and long ride in the car after having such a fun filled weekend. We arrived back in Tuscaloosa at around mid night Sunday. We were all exhausted and ready for bed.

It was such a great long weekend. But it is such a long trip to get home and see everyone. We are going to get back to Texas one of these days. Until then we are happy visiting when we can. The next trip home to Texas will be over Christmas break.

Future travel date:

December 23 College Station, Texas (one night)

December 24 Abilene, Texas (til January 3rd)

Hope to see everyone soon. We miss all of you back home!!

Trip to Texas Part IV

Part IV: Crazy Martin/Hudman/Brady Family
October 11 -12, 2009
Irving, Texas

Saturday night after a long day at Pioneer field and bonding with friends BJ, Brady and I were off down I35W to Irving, Texas. My brother Baron and s.i.l Lacey live in Irving and we were meeting them, Honey (my mom), Aunt Bonnie, Bethany (my sister), and Dakota (my niece) there at Baron's Apartment. After chatting and oohing and awing over Brady and Dakota all of us were off to sleep at our hotel.

Uncle Baron, Aunt Lacey, and Scout Meeting Brady for the 1st time.

Aunt Bonnie or Sugar Aunt and her beautiful great niece.

Honey and her second grand baby girl.

Me and Brady & Aunt Bethany and Cousin Dakota
Saturday morning we were up and around before Baron and Lacey so we just happen to be right next door to a Baby's R Us/ Toys R Us so off we went shopping. My Aunt Bonnie is the sugar aunt so of course Brady and Dakota left there with more clothes, toys, and blankets than they could ever use.
After our short but frantic shopping spree we were off with Uncle Baron and Aunt Lacey to eat lunch at a steak house. While there we had a eating frenzy with appetizers, meal, and dessert. To conclude the meal we had a photography session in front of the restaurant. With so many cameras going every picture I have someone is looking off into the distant.
I love time with family. I keep telling myself that Brady may be an only child but after visits with my family I remember even though growing up there were lots of fights I love them so much and enjoy being with them. I hate only getting to see them once of twice year but one day we will be closer.
After saying good bye BJ, Brady and I were now heading home at around 2pm. It was going to be a long cold rainy drive home.

Trip to Texas Part III

Part III: TWU Softball Alumni Throw Down

Saturday October 10th

Denton, Texas

This is the 1oth time that I have started this blog. I dont know where to start. Texas Woman's University, Coach Diane Baker, softball, and all my friends there were such a highlight in my life. My time in Denton is what made me the woman, wife, mom, friend, and coach that I am today. I learned everything from what career I wanted to go into to learning how to manage my life.

After 7 years of being out of Denton I have been living my life to the fullest in College Station and Tuscaloosa, I was given the opportunity to go back to TWU for my first softball Alumni weekend. I was so excited and pumped about seeing all my dear friends and teammates. These woman were such an important part of my life for 4 years. They were with me during alot of transition and growth. I couldnt wait for BJ and Brady to meet them.

Saturday morning at 9:45am BJ, Brady and I arrived at Pioneer Field. It looked great! It was a cold and dreary day but all the alumni were running around the field trying to remember how to move their bodies in an athletic way. As we walked up I kept hearing . . .Junior! Junior!. I had not been called that since my playing days. It was great to see everyone out on our field that we spent so many hours a week practicing and working on. I did not play with the rest of my old teammates but BJ, Brady and I sat and cheered them on with my friend Nickie and her son Aiden.

The game was an interesting one. 5 innings fast pitch and 5 innings of slow pitch. There were so many alumni there that we made rules up as we went. There were rovers for each position on the field so that no one had to run too much. There were pinch runners from home plate, ITB runners on all bases to start every inning and no batting order. After playing and cheating for 5 inning the Alumni still lost. It was sad! The slow pitch game was not any better.

I wish the weather had participated because we had a lunch picnic after the game and it was so cold and wet that many people didnt stay around to chat. I did however get to see alot of great old friends.

After a long day of friends and bonding BJ, Brady and I headed back to Sheila and Kris's house to play dress up with Brady. Sheila and Kris made some really cute onsies for Brady and we had to model and have a photo shoot.

I love Shella!

I love Auntie Ringer!

T-Dub Softball

We had so much fun in Denton with friends and it was hard to say good bye. It was such a short visit but we had to be going on to our next stop. Irving, Texas here we come for part IV of our trip to Texas.

Weekend Trip to Texas Part II

Part II: Visit with Poppa D & Gramma

Friday October 9th

Friday morning in Azle, Texas we woke up to a very chilly day ahead of us. The high was 51 degrees that day. So being the very prepared Mom that I am, I packed only long sleeved clothes after watching and checking the weather channel for the weekend forecast but I still didnt have warm enough clothes for my darling daughter. The weather channel was WRONG!!! They said it was going to be highs in the mid 70's. They were Wrong, Wrong, Wrong!!! So on that note I needed to make a very urgent trip to Wal-mart to buy warm clothes, a hat, and gloves. So on an outing we went while waiting for Poppa D to be able to leave the rig to meet us for lunch. After our brief visit to the cleanest Wal-Mart I have ever seen, we meet Poppa D at a Mexican food restaurante. I love Mexican food and in Alabama it just isnt the same as Tex-Mex. I was in heaven!! Brady was now warm as a bug in a rug and happy as can be while we ate. After lunch we said good bye to Gramma (who was freezing) and Poppa D and we were on our way to Denton to stay with Sheila and Kris.

Part IIb: Dinner Visit with Old Friends

Still Friday October 9th

After successfully getting into Sheila and Kris's house without setting the alarm off, we rested and got settled in or rather moving in however you want to describe it. Kris and Sheila were still at work so we took over the house and rested. It had only been 1 day on vacation and I was already exhausted. So much harder to get places now that we are a family of three. That night we got brave and ventured out into the trafffic of Denton to meet some of my old college buddies and one of BJ's high school friends. I know what you are thinking . . .how much traffic could Denton have? But since I graduated from TWU, Denton has grown to be one with the DFW metroplex. After fending off the mad house traffic of I35 West we made it to On The Border (yes another tex-mex restaurante). It was so nice to meet up with friends. Remembering all the great times. BJ was thrilled to get to see Rebekah (picture above). Three hours of fun and food we went back to sheila's house and we were in bed around 12:30pm. Day 2 of vacation complete and already I am exhausted.

Texas here we come . . .

Preparation is Key:
BJ, Brady and I will be leaving after lunch today for Denton, Tx for my TWU softball alumni weekend. Preparing for such a trip with a two month old baby has made me a little crazy. Yesturday Wednesday October 7 after I worked from 5 til 8:30am I came home to a very messy and dirty house. Since Brady has been born I have been picking up and spot cleaning but I had not CLEANED!!! I mean to clean where after you are done your arms and back are sore from scrubbing every surface. Everytime that I has tried in the past Brady would start crying but yesturday I left her at school so that I could CLEAN. I cleaned every room top to bottom and now I feel so much more relaxed and ready to leave my house. I always love coming home to a clean house. After a vacation that is the last thing that I ever want to do.
Packing for the trip has not even happened yet. I have been procrastinating because I dont even know where to start. BJ is packed and ready for the trip and I have yet to even pull out a suitcase for me or Brady. I have made a list of things that are coming with us so that I dont forget them but that is are far as I have gotten. I dont know what to pack for myself because all I have been wearing is windsuits and my maternity clothes. I want to look great but my clothes right now are nothing to celebrate. I dont have the money or time to go buy clothes and I am not back to my pre-pregnancy body yet so I am stuck. Yuck!!
Here after I get some more sleep I have to pack the car and lunches/snacks for the trip. I have a full day before BJ gets back from work. Another adventure for the Diltz family and we have not even left the house yet.
Even though there is lots to get ready to go I am really excited about the trip. We are driving to see BJ's family first on Billy's rig. We will stay there thursday night, spend Friday with Gramma and Poppa D then head to Denton to eat dinner with friends and old teammates then stay the night at Sheila and Kris's house. All day Saturday will be Alumni activities. Saturday night we are driving to Irving to meet Honey, Aunt Bonnie, Bethany, and Dakota at Baron and Lacey's apartment. Spend some time with them and then leave back for Tuscaloosa. It is going to be a whirl wind trip but we are excited to have our first trip back to the great state of Texas.

Two Months of Love

Two Months: October 6, 2009
Weight - 13 lbs 5 oz
Length - 25 inches
Brady is a wiggly smiling little girl with a flair for screaming outburst whenever I am on the phone. She loves taking baths and splashing in the water. She looks at us and I can see it in her eyes that she loves us very much. She has been spending time playing and observing on her tummy time mat. Brady has had some very interesting adventures during these past two weeks.

8 Weeks Old

7 Weeks Old

Bathtime Fun!!
Brady loves her bathtime. Even when she is very upset I can put her in the bath and as soon as she hits the water she is smiling and slapping the water.

Sleeping Beauty!!
Brady was not sleeping and she had cold. So to help her relax and breathe we have been
swadling her up nice and tight while she has been sleeping in her
bouncy seat. Since I have been doing this she has been sleeping at night
for 5 to 6 hour straight.

Flag Football Sunday!!
Every Sunday morning at 10am BJ meets about 15-16 friends at one of the
local parks to play a very intense flag football game. While BJ plays football Brady and I meet up with Day to walk. Day and I get 4 miles in an hour while I push Brady in her stroller and she sleeps.

Play Time Beauty!!
Brady has been spending time on her tummy time mat.
She has started to notice the toys
that are hanging above her.
She smiles and dances for 10 -15 minutes.

Brady's Pink Bear Buddy!!

She loves her bear. She will reach for his legs and touch them. The Pink bear makes soothing noises to help calm her down.

Sing Song!!
Whenever Brady is fussy and I dont know what to do
I break out in song. After many childrens songs Brady finally relaxed
during my version of Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.

Daddy Cuddle Time!!

Love Bug!!
Brady is so beautiful while she stares lovingly at her Daddy. He
is doing such a great job. It makes me love BJ even more
when I see him so proud and adoring of our
daughter.

Pet time!!
Rivot and Gracey love Brady. They are very gentle with her. I do have to watch them closely while she is on the floor or in her bouncy seat because they like to sneak up and
give her kisses (clean the milk off her face).

1st Day of School!
Brady started Weekday Kids at Forest Lake United Methodist September 21st. I went to work at 5:30am so BJ had to get her ready for school. It went pretty smoothly. I met them there so that we could see our baby girl start day care. After I asked a million questions, BJ and left to go to work. It was really hard leaving her with someone that was not family or close friend. I think that it was harder on BJ than it was me.

Pretty in Pink!!

Brady has grown so fast that I have so many clothes in her closet that are already being stored away. She is now wearing 3 month old clothes but 3/6 months clothes are approaching fast. She has gotten so many cute things to wear. She has a very extensive wardrobe.

Camo Friday!!

BJ was so happy to come home to our precious little angel in camo.
He gets so tired of seeing her in pink.
