What were we thinking?

If only things really happened like We had pictured them in our heads.

It started out innocent enough.  Two best friends wanting to get together with their families.  Just a short little road trip to Tuscaloosa, work a little softball camp, skip down to the beach for 3 nights and two days for relaxation while having a little bonding time and fun adventures with Brady and Aiden.  But what really happened was  . . .
YES that shirt is crimson and YES Nickie is wearing Alabama Gear.
Aiden and Brady saying "ROLL TIDE!!
We all danced in the rain too!!!  Thats to getting both sides of the rain story!!

While Nickie worked camp out in the Tuscaloosa humidity and heat I had Brady and Aiden duty.  I am not quite sure who had the better deal . . .  The kids at this point were buddy buddy and going none stop.  (and Nickie was worried about Aiden wearing Brady out).  I had a lovely afternoon resting while BOTH of them took naps.

Okay Blogger is making me mad.  Either it is screwy or I am a blogger idiot.  It will not do anything that i am trying to do.  So on with the blog.  The REST of the Adventure. . .

Gulf Shore Beach:  The short story (again bc blogger is ticking me off)
Brady peed in her car seat 15 minutes after we left the house where she had just used the potty.  Then we had to stop 5 other times for Brady to potty.  Aiden summarizes it "NOT AGAIN"!!

We got to the beach at 11pm that night.  Up and at it at 8am (sleeping in) we ate "free" breakfast at the hotel  it was very questionable and we didnt eat there again. Off to the beach . . . . . the car stunk so bad!!  (remember pee in the car seat).

Nickie and Aiden.  So Cute!!!!

My little devil angel.

At the beach the kids were great, we played, lifted, swung, carried, and ran with them.  Not so relaxing.  A storm came in so it was a perfect chance to get lunch where the kids were exhausted and hungry.  Not a good combination.    After baths to clean out sand from places better not mentioned it was nap time!!!  Yah!!  I laid down with Brady to help her fall asleep and I woke up two hours later.  Nickie told me Brady out lasted me and was patting my head.  Off to dinner.  Once again we didnt learn our lesson.  Hungry kids = not happy kids.  After waiting 45 minutes to eat Nickie and I need a nice spirited drink. :)

Breakfast the next morning at The Hangout for The Pirates and Princess breakfast.  It was really cute and the food was good.  The kids would not take pictures with all the pirates or princesses.  On to the second day at the beach.  At this point the kids were acting more like brother and sister then friends.
had to throw this one in here.  She decided to throw a fit on the beach.
After a long nap and snack of popcorn and anything else we had it was off to wait to eat at Lambert's.  Lemonade is a good distraction. :)
At the point I was grumpy.  I was so over Brady being a toot I didnt even want ice cream.  What was my problem.  A few photos to end the last night at the beach.

The next morning we were up and out of the hotel when we had planned but then we needed gas and of course Krispy Kreme Donuts.  On the trip Nickie got to have the adventure of going through our lovely capitol Montgomery bc we went 10 miles past our exit just chatting away about our futures.  At lunch Brady had a complete melt down bc I wouldnt let her have cherry coke.  A woman walked by to tell me how great I had handled the situation and Brady and that she understands having a very determined and controlling two year old.  At this point Nickie and I look at each other and wonder HOW we ended up with bossy and controlling children?  Six hours later we are in Tuscaloosa completely wiped out and ready for some REAL margaritas (BJ the mixologist's specialty).  We (Nickie and I) decided that the next time we plan something like this we need two adults per child (thankfully we each only have one) and at least one grandmother.
